WHERE WE WORK

We’re based in Maun on the fringes of the Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich areas. However, because dogs roam freely and inhabit everywhere from busy towns to remote villages, we have to be the same – so we’re a very mobile organisation that works across the remote Chobe, Delta, Makgadikgadi, and Kalahari landscape of Botswana.

WHAT WE WORK TOWARDS

Our mission is to prevent indiscriminate breeding, transmissible disease and human-inflicted cruelty in domestic animals via sterilisation, vaccination, and education.

Our vision is to promote a society which respects, protects, and cares for all species of animal; domestic, livestock, or wildlife.

WHO WE ARE

We’re run by a small but passionate team of unpaid volunteers who are determined to improve the welfare of domestic animals across Botswana.

Each member of our core management team works full time in a non-MAWS job but we somehow find the time to help protect Botswana's wildlife through domestic animal welfare.
