Sam Barley has spent many months with us over the years as a volunteer veterinarian. In October 2014, Sam and her boyfriend Tim Strong ran the Volkswagen Half Marathon in Romania, with all funds raised donated to MAWS.
We're delighted to announce that Sam and Tim smashed their fundraising target of £500, managing to raise an incredible £689 (P10,262). From us, and the 35 dogs whose lives we can now afford to change for the better, we'd like to thank their supporters for their generosity.
Amount raised as of 02 November 2014
Sam says: "MAWS is a charity that I have been working with over the past several years. I have been fortunate enough to have first hand experience of the difference they make in Botswana, not just for the domestic animals but with the communities and the surrounding wildlife.
Sam continues:"The dedicated and hard-working ladies who run this charity do so out of their own time and money and have never turned an animal in need away. They are an incredible group of people and I believe it is a charity worth helping in every way I can.
"Due to this, Tim and I will be running the Bucharest half marathon in October 2014. Our aim is to raise much needed funds to keep the clinic open in Maun, Botswana and allow them to continue their outreach work."
